Sapele - aboudikro (Entandrophragma cylindricum)

Sapele is a very large tree reaching even 45 meters in height and over 2 meters in diameter. Occurs on the west coast of Africa.

Sapele wood is typically in the colors of mahogany red-cinnamon-burgundy. The drawing of the rings is marked in a delicate way. Fresh wood has a strong lemon flavor similar to cedar wood.

In Sapele wood you can meet a very intricate arrangement of fibers, especially the so-called Sapele Pommelle, or Sapele with a waved fiber arrangement, which gives a very decorative effect.
